Coming to Melbourne in 1938 from Switzerland, Romberg established a partnership with two of Australia’s best known post-war architects, Robin Boyd and Roy Grounds. They formed the Grounds/Romberg/Boyd firm which went on to have a strong impact on Australian cultural life.

Many of Romberg’s buildings have been demolished, although some including the Stanhill and Newburn flats in Queens Road, Melbourne in the 30’s and 40’s, are living proof of the man’s talent.

Most Recent Sale: 301/33-34 Queens Road South Melbourne.

Agents: David Wood & Stephanie Evans – Hockingstuart
